Baptism, the door to life and to the kingdom of God, is the first sacrament of the New Law, which Christ offered to all, that they might have eternal life. He later entrusted this sacrament and the Gospel to his Church, when he told his apostles: 'Go, make disciples of all nations, and baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.'" General Introduction, the Rite of Baptism for Children

In baptism a person is set free from the powers of sin, darkness, and death and is given new life in Christ. This is the sacrament that opens the door to the life of Heaven for believers and is necessary for salvation. When this takes place in the context of a family life of faith, children are baptized shortly after birth, without unnecessary delay. Parents should contact the parish during the pregnancy of their first child to take our Baptismal Preparation Class.

The class is taught by our deacons and their wives and serves the goal of connecting families with one another, providing them with information about Baptism, the responsibilities and gifts that go along with it, and also giving them a chance to ask any questions they may have about raising their children in the life of faith.

If someone is interested in being baptized from the age of 7 onwards, please contact one of the parish priests to determine how best to prepare for this great gift.

Baptism is offered the First weekend of every month at the following mass times:

  • Saturday 4pm St. Wenceslaus
  • Sunday 10:15am, 12:30pm SPN, 5:30pm Immaculate Conception
  • Sunday 10:30am St. Wenceslaus
